Creating your first timer link
This takes about two minutes. By the end, you'll have a timer link ready to embed in your recipe.
Open the timer generator
Click the Create Timer button in the nav above, or use the button below. No account required.
Enter the timer details
Timer name: Give it a clear, specific name that will make sense in a notification. “Pasta” is fine; “Cook” is not. Your reader's notification will say “Pasta Timer”.
Duration: Enter the hours, minutes, and seconds from your recipe.
Recipe URL (optional): Add your recipe's URL and the timer page will show a “Back to recipe” link — useful if a reader lands on the timer directly.
Copy the link
Click Copy link. The generated URL looks like this:
https://recipetimer.app/t?h=0&m=12&s=0&t=PastaEmbed it in your recipe
In your CMS, select the text that describes the timer step — for example, “cook for 12 minutes” — and add the link you just copied as a hyperlink. That's it.
If you prefer to make it more prominent, you can add it as a standalone call-to-action button. The example below is what many creators use:
Example in your recipe:
Add the pasta and cook for 12 minutes.
⏱ Start 12-minute pasta timer →The link text is up to you. The timer name and duration come from the URL — the link text is just for readability.
