Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 February 2026
Acceptance of terms
By using RecipeTimer (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including home cooks, recipe creators, and API customers.
The Service
RecipeTimer provides cooking timer functionality through an Android app, a browser-based timer, and embeddable timer links that recipe creators can add to their content. The Service is provided “as is” and may change or be discontinued at any time.
Free use — home cooks
The Service is free for home cooks. No account is required. You may use timer links and the browser timer without restriction, subject to these terms.
Creator accounts
Recipe creators may create an account to access paid features (Indie, Pro, or API plans). You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring that timer links you embed are accurate and appropriate for your content
Payments and refunds
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are in USD unless stated otherwise.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to embed timers in spam, misleading content, or illegal material
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or its API
- Impersonate another person or organisation in timer names or creator profiles
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Intellectual property
RecipeTimer and its content, features, and functionality are owned by RecipeTimer and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Timer links you create and recipes you embed them in remain your property. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to display and serve your timer links to enable the Service to function.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that timer alerts will fire in every circumstance (for example, when a device has restricted background activity or notification permissions disabled).
We are not responsible for overcooked or undercooked food resulting from missed alerts. Timers are a tool — use your judgement in the kitchen.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecipeTimer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to delete your account data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify creator account holders by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance, followed by binding arbitration if necessary.
