Privacy Policy

RecipeTimer (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a cooking timer service. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

The short version: home cooks need no account and we collect no personal data from them. Creator accounts store only what's needed to provide the service.

Timer links work without an account or login. When you tap a timer link or use the browser timer at recipetimer.app/t, we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.

Standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, browser type) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted. These logs are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

The RecipeTimer Android app is available on Google Play. It does not require an account. Timer data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you opt in to sync features (not yet available).

Google Play may collect diagnostic and usage data governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

If you create a creator account (Indie, Pro, or API plan), we collect:

• Your email address (to contact you and manage your account)
• Payment information — processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store card numbers
• Timer links you create (title, duration, optional recipe URL)

We use your email to send account-related messages (receipts, renewal notices, product updates you request). We do not sell your email or use it for advertising.

Creators on paid plans receive anonymous analytics about their timer links: device type, geographic region (country level), and whether the timer was completed or missed. This data is aggregate and anonymous — it cannot be used to identify individual readers.

The marketing site (this site) uses no tracking cookies. Creator accounts use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

• Stripe — payment processing for creator accounts. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosting for the web application. May log request data. Governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email hello@recipetimer.app. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Creator account data is retained for the duration of the account plus 90 days after cancellation, after which it is deleted. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Anonymous analytics are retained indefinitely (they contain no personal data).

RecipeTimer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email hello@recipetimer.app.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify creator account holders by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
