Squarespace & Wix: Timer links in rich-text blocks

Both Squarespace and Wix use a standard rich-text editor. Adding a RecipeTimer link is the same as adding any hyperlink — select text, paste URL, done.

Squarespace

1

Generate your timer link

Use the generator below to create a link with your timer name and duration.

2

Open your page in the Squarespace editor

Go to Pages, click the page with your recipe, and click Edit to enter the site editor.

3

Click into your text block

Click on the text section containing your recipe. Double-click if needed to enter editing mode. Select the text for the timed step — for example, “cook for 12 minutes”.

4

Add the link

Click the link icon in the text toolbar that appears (it looks like a chain link). Select External, paste your RecipeTimer URL, and click Apply. Save the page.

Wix

The process in Wix is identical:

  1. Generate your timer link using the generator above.
  2. Open your page in the Wix Editor and click the text block with your recipe.
  3. Select the text you want to link.
  4. Click the link icon in the text toolbar. Choose Web Address, paste the RecipeTimer URL, and click Done. Publish the page.

A note on Squarespace recipe templates

Squarespace's built-in Recipe block formats ingredients and instructions but does not support inline hyperlinks in the ingredients list. For timer links, use a standard Text block for the instructions section, where inline links are fully supported.
